What do you do when you’ve raised two awesome humans, are lifelong entrepreneurs, have some time on your hands, and want to make a difference in your community? You start a cottage business that specializes in treats that everyone in the family can enjoy!

We joined the North Beach Farmers’ Market in 2019 and quickly realized that there was a need in our community for specialized desserts, with a focus on dietary restrictions and/or intolerances and we were able to build a small but loyal community of customers. Once the market switched from Friday evenings to Saturday mornings, we chose switch things up, too - expanding our menu to include donuts, because who wouldn’t love a warm cookie or delicious gluten-free donut fresh from the oven on a Saturday morning?

Each week, our menu boasts our Farmers’ Market Favorites, seasonal delights and, yes, maybe even a pop culture reference because we are geeks like that.

Facts & FAQ.

  • Product Color Coding

    Because we offer a wide variety of items that each have their own dietary classifications, we have created a color-coded system to easily and quickly identify which items are gluten-free, vegan, sugar free, items that contain added nut allergens or any combination therein.

  • Free Samples

    We have worked tirelessly to perfect our original recipes and understand that there is a stigma associated with desserts that are catered to specialized dietary needs. To combat this, we offer a limited number of prepackaged free samples at our events so customers can try before they buy.

  • Free Local Hero Cookie

    At each event, we offer a limited number of free individually wrapped Darn Good Sugar Cookies to our local heroes. This started as a way of giving back to those who give so much to us - first responders, veteran & active military, and expanded to include nurses & teachers during the pandemic.

  • We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also accept Snap Benefits at the North Beach Farmers’ Market. Coming in 2022, we will also be able to accept Apple Pay.

  • If you are interested in placing a custom order, please contact us via e-mail at bakedbythebaycb@gmail.com or message us on Facebook or Instagram. Once we have solidified your order, we will send you an invoice to remit payment. Pickup/delivery arrangements will also be made at this time.

  • Absolutely! If you would like to pre-order a batch of a standard menu item, please contact us no later than 72 hours before a scheduled event.

  • Currently, we offer free delivery to the Twin Beaches (Chesapeake Beach and North Beach, MD).

  • We can ship items within the state of Maryland.

  • Sadly, you cannot. Due to Maryland’s cottage business rules, all of our products must be made and packaged within our home.

  • Green = Gluten-free (GF)

    Violet = Vegan (V)

    Blue = Sugar Free (SF)

    Pink = Added Nuts (typically walnuts or pecans)

  • After extensive and expensive product testing, we have found that stevia-based sugar substitutes work best in our desserts.

  • We use a proprietary blend.
